Homescapes, formerly Lowe’s Built-ins, was founded by Gerald Lowe, a successful mechanical contractor in Idaho. Always eager to please, Gerald responded to a customer's request to install a central vacuum system in their home. When he was finished with the job, the client was so excited and satisfied with the work that she chased Gerald to his truck to pay him. Gerald has told the story that he had never had anyone" chase him down to pay for a toilet" and so the rest is history. In 1982 Gerald moved his business to Spokane as Lowe's Built Ins providing central vacuum systems to Central Washington. Today Homescapes employs over 15 people and is one of Beam’s Central Vacuums premier distributors and installers.

Gerald's son, Dean Lowe now runs the operations and has expanded his thriving Spokane-based business into the Portland, Oregon market. Dean not only changed the name form Lowe’s Built-ins to Homescapes, but has increased his product line to include Bose home theater systems in response to growing customer demands. Homescapes continues to offer exceptional customer service and the highest quality product through Beam and Bose. If you choose to install a system yourself, we can provide expert advice and assistance in laying out your system.
